Jake Harris - Founder

Jake Harris is the co-founder of Harris Bay. In 2003, Mr. Harris was involved in commercial construction as an estimator, superintendent, and later project manager. He was running millions of dollars of commercial property retrofits for clients including Equity Office Properties (EOP) in the Sacramento region and San Francisco Bay Area. He managed first hand the value added process of acquiring below-market properties to re-position them with cost-effective remodels.

In 2004, Mr. Harris decided to transition his day-to-day operational experience into buying properties and rehabbing them for short-term profits. Based in the Bay Area, his first property was located in the suburb of Phoenix, AZ. Soon after he relocated his full-time operations to the Phoenix, Arizona, region. After several years in Arizona he once again relocated back to Northern California in 2008.

Over the years of investment management, Jake has been responsible for $200M+ across 100s of transactions. While working with several top Family offices and institutional investment firms like Invitation Homes, Tricon, Colony Capital and Wedgewood.

In 2014, Harris Bay was formed when Mr. Harris and Mr. Bayer combined their decades of experience in real estate and wealth management to offer better and expanded opportunities to their clients. Creating a flexible investment strategy with strategic placement of capital into opportunistic assets and locations. 

Jake graduated cum laude from Rasmussen College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship. He also received with Beta Gamma Sigma and honors a Master of Science in International Real Estate (MSIRE) from the Tibor Hollo School of Real Estate at Florida International University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Accredited City-Builder Member of the Congress for New Urbanism (CNU-A), and a licensed Real Estate Broker in California.

Anton Bayer is a third generation contractor/builder obtaining his California general contractor’s license in 1977 and other specialty licenses. For the past 30 years Anton has focused all of his residential building and investing activities for his personal portfolio that has included multiple residential acquisitions, remodeling, and new construction.

 In 1982 Anton joined a New York Stock Exchange investment firm in San Francisco leaving the building industry as a vocation.  During these past 34 years in the financial industry Anton has established four investment companies, facilitated two corporate acquisitions, formed three limited partnerships, and held senior executive positions in two NYSE firms.  Currently, Anton is the CEO and founder of Up Capital Management, Inc, a SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm managing over $170 million in assets for corporations, individuals, family trusts, retirement plans, and home owner associations.

 Mr. Bayer authored Managing to Retire, a quarterly investment & economic focused newsletter for eleven years,  The Weekly Update since 2012, and released in 2007 book, Exposing the Myths to Achieving Financial Success. Mr. Bayer has been a frequent guest since 2007 on national media programs including CNBC, Fox Business News, Bloomberg Radio. Mr. Bayer is regularly invited to speak at corporate sponsored events on real estate, investments, and economic topics.



Alex Leon has been engaged in real estate, construction, construction management, and related fields for more than 40 years. He embodies the true starting from the bottom and working his way up. As a teenager in high school he would ride the city bus to his summers mowing lawns and doing maintenance for the construction company. He has been successful in the planning, coordinating, directing, and controlling functions of company operations, including partnerships. He has played a key role in establishing procedures and processes while developing one of the leading construction management firms in the country. Engineering News Record recognized the company as the 23rd largest construction management-for-fee firm in the U.S.

As the President and CFO of the group of companies he was responsible to have successfully completed over $10 billion in construction services, real estate developments, design-build lease and Power Purchase Agreements. Completed projects include both public and private projects such as educational, justice, healthcare, water, waste-water facilities, pipelines, civil infrastructure projects, restaurants, hotels, office and industrial buildings. He managed over $5 billion in construction projects company-wide. Mr. Leon has been intimately involved in the real estate and other business holdings including office buildings, governmental facilities, industrial and retail properties, hospitality, medical/dental facilities, communications properties, and energy generation facilities.

In 2008, Mr. Leon had the distinction of designing, building, owning and operating the largest solar thermal production facility in the world. While being one of the nation’s leaders in solar thermal technology, which includes solar heating and cooling, dehumidification and domestic hot water.

Mr. Leon graduated University of California Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and holds a Masters from the University of Southern California. He also holds a Certificate in Local Agency Financing from the University of Southern California.

Mr. Leon is a member of the American Management Association, New America Alliance, Construction Financial Management Association, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Treasury Management Association. He is also an active member of various community improvement projects.
